Board of Education Commits Increased Revenue to Lowering Tax Impact
4.2% Increase is Lowest in Nine Years

TheYorktown Central School District Board of Education voted to return additional State funding of $900,000, plus another $525,000 to the community. This $1,425,000 return reduces the tax rate increase of the proposed 2008-2009 budget to 4.2%, the lowest increase in nine years. 1.2% of the increase is for the first payment of bond debt to support voter approved capital projects.

Brookside Students Take Ford Challenge to Next Level
Students Students who took the Ford Motor Company Challenge last fall to build a prototype of environmentally sound “green” cars visited the Javits Center recently to see first hand some of the new technology that matches their vision. The youngsters got quite the eyeful during the inspirational trip.
