On Monday,
May 5th, Yorktown High School received the Middle States Validation Team’s recommendation for Accreditation for Growth. In the oral report Dr. Christine Robbins the chair of the team recommended accreditation stating “Yorktown is providing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum to an extremely talented and motivated student body. The faculty is a dedicated and highly trained group of professionals who commit themselves to the children entrusted to them with the passion and care of an extended family.”
The Middle States re-accreditation process began in January of 2007. Over the course of the process, members of the community, parents, teachers, staff and administrators worked together to bring about the recommendation. This marks a moment of great pride for the district and it is a blueprint for the future.
