(July 8, 2008) At its annual Reorganizational Meeting, the members of the Yorktown Central School District Board of Education re-elected Mrs. Jackie Carbone to serve as president. Mrs. Karen Corrado was re-elected vice president. Both will serve one year terms in their leadership positions.
Mr. Anthony D'Alessandro and Mrs. Judith Huntington, both re-elected by the voters of the District in May, took the oath of office as they began their three-year terms. The other members of the Board are Mr. Peter Bisaccia, Mr. J. Mark Drexel and Mr. Michael Magnani. Dr. Ralph Napolitano serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent of Schools.
The Reorganizational Meeting is the initial meeting of the Board of Education for the 2008-2009 school year. Every school district in New York State, with the exception of the Big Five City School Districts, is required by statute to conduct this meeting in July. As its name implies, the Board organizes its formal structure for the coming year and assigns certain mandated responsibilities. Among these were:
District Clerk
Mrs. Elizabeth Rotfeld
District Treasurer
Ms. Alicia Madera
Deputy Treasurer
Mrs. Joanne Odoardi
Board Attorney
Shaw, Perelson, May & Lambert, LLP
Claims Auditor
Ms. Eleanor Fortunato
