All school budgets and bond issues must be approved by the voters of the Yorktown Central School District. Qualifications for voters are prescribed by New York State law. To vote, a person must be a citizen of the United States; a resident of the School District for at least 30 days; 18 years of age or older; personally registered for School District Elections or registered for General Elections with Westchester County.
If you have recently moved into the district and are not registered for school district elections, but have voted in general elections, you must file a change of address with the Board of Elections to be eligible to vote in a general election.
Registration
Residents may come to the Business Office, 2725 Crompond Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on any business day up to five days prior to the school district budget vote on May 19, 2009.
Special registrations will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in Mildred E. Strang Middle School, and
Thursday, May 14, 2009, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Yorktown High School.
Final Date for registration is Thursday, May 14, 2009 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Business Office – 2725 Crompond Road.
Unified Voting Day
Board of Education Elections and Annual School Budget Vote will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mohansic Elementary School, 704 Locksley Road, Yorktown Heights.
