State EXCEL Aid Provides Funding for
Health, Safety & Technology Renovations


New York State is offering a one-time opportunity for the Yorktown Central School District to receive additional capital projects aid under the EXCEL Program.  Combining EXCEL Aid and the District's eligible building aid, 100% of the qualifying construction costs of the projects listed below will be covered by state funds.

For the District to receive this aid, voters must approve the school facilities improvement plan and authorize related financing.  A referendum will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 7:00am-9:00pm.

Voter Registration
Eligible voters may register on any school day at the office of the District Clerk, 2725 Crompond
Road from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Final registration date: OCTOBER 18TH

Voter Eligibility
Residents of the Yorktown Central School District must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Be a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the election
  • Be 18 years of age by October 23rd
  • Be registered to vote in the past or on one of the registration dates, or
  • Have voted in a school election within the past four years, or
  • Be duly registered to vote in the general political elections and have voted within the past four years

Voter status may be checked by calling the District Clerk’s Office at 243-8199 between 9:00am and 3:00pm.

Absentee Ballot
Eligible voters may request an absentee ballot by completing an application for same.  The application may be obtained by calling the District Clerk’s Office at 243-8199.  Said application must be received by the District Clerk at least 7 days prior to the Excel Aid Vote if the ballot is to be mailed, or the application must be received by the District Clerk the day before the Annual District Election if the ballot is to be hand delivered.  Ballots for applications received after OCTOBER 17TH may not be mailed but they may be picked up at the District Clerk’s Office.
