During the 2007-2008 school year, the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association will conduct an accreditation review of Yorktown High School.
The Commission on Secondary Schools (CSS) was established in November 1920 to promote the improvement of secondary education and to secure better coordination and understanding between secondary schools and institutions of higher education. Accreditation provides an affirmation that Yorktown High School provides the quality of education the public has a right to expect and that the educational community recognizes.
To prepare for the visit and evaluation by the review team, Yorktown High School is engaged in an institutional Self-Study. The purpose of the Self-Study is to assess the school’s past and current performance and to plan for the future.
A Steering Committee will coordinate the Self-Study process. The Committee Members are:
