Yorktown Council of PTSAs

The PTA plays a vital role as advocates for children, providing parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child.

The Council of Yorktown Parent Teacher Student Associations serves as a coordinating executive committee whose role is to unite the efforts of the seven independent PTAs in Yorktown.

Membership
Membership of the Council is composed of unit presidents and delegates, as well as the chairpersons of the council's committees. The unit president and the delegate represent the interest of their unit at Council and report back to their membership on the business of the PTSA Council, Westchester District PTA, NY State and National PTA.

Candidates Night

The Yorktown Council of PTSA's sponsors a forum for school board candidates each year. This year's forum will be on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the MESMS cafeteria.

All candidates will be invited to respond to questions prepared by the PTA, and time permitting, to questions from the audience.

The forum will be videotaped and broadcast on cable Channel 18 several times before the election.
